Apparent Contradictions

An apparent contradiction in the Bible is an invitation for deeper study.

The astute practitioner of honest, accurate scholarship will emerge from the endeavor with a greater appreciation of God’s magnificence and a deeper understanding of His ways. The Creator of reason is not irrational. The Author of logic is not fallacious. There are no contradictions with God or His Word; simply things we haven’t given the time or made the effort to understand, or things we are incapable of fully comprehending at present.

Don’t just accept contradictions under the guise of faith. And don’t reject the truth out of hand because you don’t understand it or haven’t explored it. This is intellectual theology. And you would do well to consider it; either as a responsibility to understand your own claims or because you will be accountable for your rejection of it.

Grace and peace.
